What we do

Azadî works at a local, regional, and global level to further the rights of marginalised people through co-produced projects grounded in lived experience, policy engagement, the arts, creativity, culture, and education. The goal of our work here at Azadî is to foster community, inclusion, and respect for everyone. Our work spans adult learning programmes, integration projects, public events, talks, culture exchanges and workshops that foster skills development, understanding, and meaningful dialogue. We design and deliver collaborative projects alongside the communities they benefit, providing platforms, resources, and expertise to support inclusion and shared learning.

Current projects:

This project profiles individuals and families who have arrived in the Inbhear Scéine area from all over the world, people who once came as visitors, workers, dreamers, adventurers, or even by accident, and who stayed to become part of the living fabric of this place.

Through intimate video interviews, participants will share experiences of settling in Ireland:
their first impressions, their challenges, their moments of connection, and the unexpected joys that made Kenmare Bay feel like home.

Ireland will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, July to December 2026, a role that provides a visible diplomatic platform to promote the Union’s core values of democracy, human rights, rule of law, and peaceful dispute resolution. Ireland’s long-standing policy of military neutrality, sustained participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions, and its experience in negotiations culminating in the 1998 Good Friday Agreement have contributed to an international reputation as a credible and principled peace-building nation.

This petition was submitted on Good Friday, a date of particular significance in Ireland’s modern history. The Good Friday Agreement demonstrated that even deeply entrenched and painful conflicts can move toward political settlement through inclusive dialogue, constitutional reform, minority protections, and carefully sequenced confidence-building measures. The symbolism is not intended to equate conflicts, but to affirm the universal principle that negotiated political solutions remain possible where democratic pathways are prioritised.

We’ve lived through conflict, we know the cost. Let’s stand for peace beyond our borders.
